Arribagé and Olivetti Capture First Team Title at the Almaty Open
France’s Théo Arribagé and Albano Olivetti clinched their first ATP Tour team title at the Almaty Open , defeating Germany’s third-seeded duo Jakob Schnaitter and Mark Wallner 6–4, 7–6(8) in the doubles final on Sunday.
Seeded fourth, the French pair showcased exceptional teamwork and resilience throughout the week, overcoming several tight matches on their way to the championship. Competing together for only their second week , Arribagé and Olivetti displayed remarkable chemistry to lift their maiden team trophy.
«It was a really good week,» said Arribagé «We found a way to play well together, had a lot of tough matches, but kept fighting hard and found solutions every time. We’re really happy to finish with the title here in Almaty.»
Olivetti added: «It was an unbelievable week. Every match was close, but we stayed solid and supported each other. It feels great to win our first title together.»
The pair had long discussed the idea of teaming up but had not done so until this tournament. «We’d talked before about maybe playing a tournament together,» Arribagé explained. «This time, we said, ‘Let’s give it a try,’ and I think it turned out to be a great decision.»
Reflecting on the week, Olivetti praised the **Almaty Open’s organization and atmosphere , «Honestly, it’s a fantastic event. For an ATP 250, the quality of everything is really high. We loved playing on Center Court, especially with such an amazing crowd. Their support gave us a lot of energy.»
With this victory, Arribagé and Olivetti extend a strong run of French success on the ATP Tour in 2025. They are the second French doubles finalists in the event’s history and the third all-French team to capture an ATP title this season*, following Benjamin Bonzi and Pierre-Hugues Herbert (Marseille) and Sadio Doumbia and Fabien Reboul (Geneva).
For Arribagé , this marks his second ATP doubles title of the year after winning in Buenos Aires , while Olivetti now holds three career ATP titles , adding to his 2024 triumphs in Munich and Gstaad.
The champions received specially crafted trophies presented by Bulat Utemuratov, President of the Kazakhstan Tennis Federation, during the post-final ceremony.
